A Modern Fiesta with Minted at the Ace Hotel
A couple of weeks ago, while I was in Palm Springs, nosotros threw a dinner at the Ace Hotel, which is definitely a place you'll desire to visit if you lot ever notice yourself in Palm Springs.
Kelly and Chelsea had both been there before, but information technology was my commencement time, and so I was really excited to explore the grounds a petty bit and take some tacos on the stargazing deck. Have you been to the Ace in Palm Springs?
Of class, we couldn't let a dinner go by without some bells and whistles, and so nosotros partnered with Minted to bring our idea for a non-traditional modern fiesta to life, and brand things a piffling bit more special. They hooked the states up with menus, gifts for our guests, a custom photo booth backdrop – the whole shebang.
We knew nosotros wanted to do something a petty out to the ordinary – not your typical fiesta, so nosotros decided to pair down the colour scheme, going with rich blues, neutrals, and a few pops of warmer pinks and reds to liven things up.
We decorated the tabular array with cacti and bloom arrangements (including that gorgeous pineapple system from Jenn), along with croaky cascarones, confetti, and a few blooms scattered around the table. A few cacti were planted in tiny bulb containers with fresh flowers attached, and the big guys flanked the arrangements.
To bring some colour to each place setting, nosotros chose these blue ombre watercolor menus, which matched the DIY confetti and cascarones perfectly. And then we set upward some goodies for anybody to take dwelling:
- trivial kraft boxes filled with Mexican candies, tied with velvet ribbon and simple place cards
- an assortment of tiny Minted prints
- and a larger print to add to everyone's collection. This ane was a crowd favorite.
I love that the three of us were able to work together on this dinner to choose everything. Information technology's always fun to piece of work with other people on projects like this, especially when they're your buddies.
Kelly made the lapel picado garland with some of our actress ombre cards and her Cricut. That matter is magic, I tell ya. And Kel also made over a crazy colorful piñata into this toned downwardly, ombre jewel. Which of course, matched our menus and pretty much everything else. She shared the DIY hither for anyone who is interested.
And I styled the table and place settings.
Nosotros kept the vibe casual with a DIY taco bar, and a behemothic pitcher of margaritas pretty much sealed the deal. It was so nice to sit down downwardly for a few hours after a very full day of projects, and just chat with anybody. These girls are seriously the sweetest (and cutest) girls are know.
It was a lovely night (the weather was awesome that day and night) and I seriously can't expect to go dorsum there once again. Hopefully with all of these amazing ladies.
